Coaching

Wanna Dance is a registered training facility (RTF) with DanceSport Australia (DSA) and operates in accordance with DSA’s policies, code of conduct, and rules. As the principal of the RFT, Sherrie is accredited as a Level 3 Coach and Adjudicator.

Coaching

Wanna Dance provides coaching to all levels of competition dance couples (amateur and professional) who are seeking to take their dance to the next level in DanceSport competitions in Australia. Coaching involves specialised technical, physical and artistic training as well as choreography and musicality. Coaching is also available for social dancers and wedding couples.

Accreditation

Sherrie serves as an assessor for DanceSport Australia and sits on the NSW accreditation panel. Students and teachers who are members of DSA can be trained by Sherrie to achieve their target accreditation level, which may range from Assistant Instructor to Coach.

Accreditation

All DSA members who are seeking accreditation as a Coach must complete the “Community Coaching General Principles” (CCGP) online course via the Australian Sports Commission. This course includes four modules covering general coaching topics, including roles and responsibilities, planning, safety, working with parents, and coaching practices.

School Programs

Sherrie has been actively involved in primary and secondary school dance programs and concerts for over 20 years. Sherrie has been instrumental in creating the in-school dance curricula and is responsible for teacher training. One of Sherrie’s passions is working with primary schools to create their end-of-year dance concerts, which include performances from Kindy to Grade 6.

School Programs

Wanna Dance is an endorsed provider for the DanceSport in school dance program called “Dance Up” and also works with “DanceSport Confidence”. Both programs provide dance lessons for students ranging from Kindy to Grade 8. Sherrie is passionate about teaching kids of all ages how wonderful dance can be.
